Road Network

This short article's purpose is to provide you with an overview of the subject. Details will be covered in each module in this KB.

The Road Network module consists of the Network State, the Operations and Management.1 Network State Section

Our Network State section will display your road networks state and current operations, These can be any operations you may have such as your scraping, plowing, sanding, blowing, street sweeping routes, etc. which represents your current operations in progress, displayed on the map.


In the right panel we display the Global Statistics for the Operation type you have selected along with the Statistics per Level of Service for the Priority routes.

 

1.1 The Network State - Toolbar

The toolbar provides you access to the Display menu, editing tools and to select amongst your various operations and vehicles. See below for a brief description.


 

1. Allows you to configure various aspects of the Network State - Display Options (view mode) and Filters (Map configuration, Layers, and Show Zones). See 1.2 – Display options below for more details.

2. Allows you to select a segment on the map.

3. Allows you to select a multi segment on the map.

4. Allows you to multi-select Polygons.

5. Allows you to clear the current selection.

6. Allows you to Append the current operation. This menu only appears when you select to use the Multi-select options above (icons 3 & 4 above)

7. Allows you to select the various operations you may have to display on the map via a drop down menu.

8. Allows you to select various vehicles to display on the map via a drop down menu.

9. Allows you to refresh the map.

1.2 The Display Options

The Display Options allows you to change various features of the Road Network State.


1.2.1 The View Mode :

The View mode in Display options allows you to change the map view mode from Completion State to Passage Date or to Level of Service. See below for a brief description of each.

· Completion State: is where we present the Global Statistics for the selected Operation (Completed, Incompleted, In Progress, Planned) and provide the Statistics per Level of Service (1/100%).

· Passage Date: is when the road segments were last passed upon (serviced) for the selected Operation (Green 0-5 min, Yellow 5-15 min, Red 15- more, Initial State).


 

· Level of Service: is where the map displays the service levels configured for the current road network.


 

1.2.2 The Filters:

The Filters mode allows you to change the Map configuration, change the map layer and allow you to show your geozones on the map. See below for a short description.

· Map configuration: The map configuration changes the applied styles and the compatible functions and layers. (You have the ability to select between different maps via a drop-down menu).

 

1.2.3 The Layer Option:

The Layers option allows you to make changes the displayed road network, allowing you to switch map views to view layers such as your Roads layer (left screenshot) or Sidewalks layer (right screenshot).

1.2.4 The Show Zones option:

Selecting the toggle to On, the map would also display your geozones on the road network's map.

2 Operations Section

This section allows you to view your current Operations. Where you can create new Operation types for your Road Network.

2.1 Operations List

The list of current map operations available for your network. In the grid you can either filter, edit, end or delete any of your operations.



2.2 Add an Operation

Selecting Plan an Operation will open the Operation form and allow you to plan a new operation. The operation will start automatically at the entered start time. If an end date is specified, progress will automatically stop on that date. No data will be deleted automatically after the end date. The operation could block the creation of other operations if the layer, function(s) and dates are in conflict with other operations. The operation must be closed manually to prevent conflicts.



Enter in the Name of the Planned Operation, the Map Layer, the Function to be performed on the operation and the Start date and End date and click on Save.

 

3 Manage Section

With the Map Configurations sections, you can view a list of your current Map configurations.


 

Selecting a Map configuration from the Map Configurations list allows you to Create a new map configuration or edit an existing map configuration. In the Map Configuration form, you can provide a Map name, set an Opening message, add a Title and text area (with a preview available) for your map. You can set the map visibility (public vs private). Set your Road network state default road colors (e.g. Grey), Create or add your City logo, set your browser tab title, (e.g. London)


Set up the options for your Completion state (Completed. Underway or Planned) and Passage dates (0-5 mins, 5-15 mins, 15- and more) for your layers such as Roads and Sidewalks, even add additional layers, You have the option to Reset you configurations and Save your configuration options.


You also have the option to Add an additional layer using the Aqua icon or choose to Delete your map configurations using the red Delete icon located at the bottom left. With the Reset icon on the right side you can reset your configuration and with the Save icon, save you map configuration.
