Vehicles

This short article's purpose is to provide you with an overview of the subject. Details will be covered in each module in this KB.

We also have the Vehicles module with Travels (a travel report), Live Data (current view of asset), Vehicle History (allows you to select and view an asset for a period and replay their route) and finally Manage (which allows you to manage / modify your assets).

1.1 Travels

The Travels menu will allow you to view all of your assets, select among any created Geofences and select a time period (e.g. the last hours, to the last 30 days or even select a custom date and time) period.


 

Selecting a vehicle from the list will open up the map view and display the Vehicle history for the options selected. We display the GPS trace of the vehicle along with a breakdown of all of the events that took place during the trip. From ignition on to moving, scraping events, any Idling events until the Vehicle stops with an ignition off event.

 

Selecting an event in the right panel such as Ignition on event, will display the location on the map where the ignition on event occurred.

Selecting a Moving event will display the segment on which the vehicle was travelling on the route, its direction, its duration and distance along the route.

When an Operation (e.g. scraping or spreading) is assigned on a segment, we also display the location on the route where the Scraping operation took place along the route.


 

Selecting a Navigation on the Route Paused will displayed where on the route the navigation was paused and resumed on the route segment.


 

At the bottom of the displayed trip history for the route we provide a summary of the trip and display the Trip Duration, the Total Distance of the route, the cumulative Idle time, the Operator’s name performing the trip, and we provide the Route Name.


 

1.2 Live Data

The Live Data section provides a Map view, Grid view or Split view (Map and Grid) views) of your vehicle’s current location on the map in real time. We provide a searchable grid that lists all of your current vehicles. The grid is configurable and allows sorting ascending and descending views.

We provide columns such DTC indicators, the Vehicle Name/ID, the Date and Time, the Plow State (e.g. lowered, lifted), Spreader status (e.g. Auto, Blast), Spreader rates (e.g. 67.72%) , Spreader Materials (e.g. Sand/salt 25%) , Spreader Type (e.g. Dickey John) Operator name, Vehicle direction (N, NE, E, SE, S, etc.), Vehicle speed (KMs/M), the Navigations Status (Tracking or Stopped), the Route, the Ignition Status (On or Off).


 

Edit mode is available to edit any asset, simply by clicking the 3 dots and choosing Edit Status, will open a dialog box on screen allowing you to Edit the vehicles navigational status between (Tracking, Plowing, Stopped).


 

Selecting any vehicle within the Map will allow you to view all of the Vehicle, Telemetry, Route, Error codes, related details about the vehicle.


 

1.2.1. Editing or Modifying a vehicle.

Selecting any vehicle within the Grid will open the Vehicles form, from here you can modify and edit a vehicle’s configuration using the Vehicle Form

Vehicle Form - which will allow you to make any necessary edits to the vehicle’s configuration. Items such as the Vehicles name, VIN, Registration, Brand, Model, Transporter and ass a description note. Select if the asset is a trailer and if the asset uses a specific Icon to display it on the map.


 

Tasks – Any associated tasks applied to the vehicle would appear listed here.


 

Installation section – allows you to view/ modify the installation configuration details for the vehicles, Device type (LMU, etc.), Harness (VBUS, Inputs), Ignition (VBUS, Hardwired), Spreader type (e.g. Dickey John, etc.), Driver ID type (e.g. Ibutton), the Odometer, Speed, Engine hours, plus all of the Installation details.


 

Diagnostic section, where you can view the diagnostic details, when applicable.


 

Access Section, where you can add the vehicle to a certain group, e.g. Snow plows, Sweepers, Contractors, etc.)


 

Sites Access, where you can select the Site access required (e.g. Loader, Transport, etc.) and add a tag type.

1.3 History Section

The Vehicle History section will allow the Supervisor to select any vehicle available within the drop-down list and select from the last hour up to th last 30 days or even from a custom date and time and then view it on the map.

From here you can Generate the Route history on the map or choose to Export the route history.

If Generating the Route history – you will view the selected vehicles trip history based on the timeframe selected. Within the right column you also have the option to Replay the selected trip history the playback speeds are from normal speed up to 100X speed. You can also select and view many different properties, such as view on the map: Segments, Speed, Functions, Spreader Status, Spreader Materials, Spreader Quantities.


 

Example, if you select Speed, you can view on the map the places where your vehicle was travelling at the threshold indicated, you can change the speed variable and view if your vehicle was moving at a faster speed (speeding). If you select Spreading Status, you can view on the map the color-coded segment along the route where your spreader was in Auto mode you will see orange segments and where the spreader was in Blast mode, you will view red segments along the route.


 

If you choose to Export the Route, the route will export the data in a CSV file which provides the vehicle name, date, (error codes), Direction, the Odometer, the ignition status, activated function, Idling status and most important is the GPS position coordinates, (Longitude and Latitude).


 

1.4 Manage Section

The Manage section provides the complete list of assets in your organization and allows you to manage them. The Grid displays all of the assets in your organization and each Grid column provides specific information pertaining to the selected vehicle, such as any reported Error codes, the last update reported by the vehicle, the device Name and ID, the Group name, (if applicable), the Vehicle description, the vehicles Installation date, the tablet name, (if one is used), the vehicles Registration, the Brand of vehicle, the Model of vehicle, the Spreader type (if applicable), the associated map Icon that was selected for use on the map.




All columns can be filtered ascending, descending, you can drag any column title to group your vehicle's, e.g. by Model.


 

You can search in the individual columns to find your information more easily. Once complete you can remove the filter by clicking on the Filter icon.



Selecting the 3 dots at the end of each row will allow you to Edit the current information related to the asset, see the logs for the selected asset or to delete the selected asset. You can manage all asset modifications simply by selecting a vehicle and making any necessary changes. To Add a new vehicle to your organization, Click on the + Add icon located on the top right of the Grid table. Simply Add a vehicle name and click the Create burton.



Simply enter in a vehicle name and click the Create button and in the Edit a Vehicle form will open allowing you to enter in your vehicle's information such as the vehicle Edit a Vehicle form, once you have entered in your vehicles details, such as the Vehicle name, VIN, the Registration, the Brand, the Model, the Transporter (if applicable). Even add a vehicle description. if needed. Indicate if the asset is a trailer and you can add a custom icon for the vehicle type.



In the sections below the vehicle information, you can also add the following information relating to your vehicle:
  1. Under the Task section, view if there are Tasks, if any associated tasks are required.
  2. Under the Installation section, you can enter in any Installation information,
  3. Under the Diagnostics section, you can view any diagnostic details.
  4. Under the Access section, select any vehicle group to add your vehicle to.
  5. Under the Site Access section, choose the vehicles transporter role, if needed select either Loader or Transport.
